Popular Children’s Parties For 2020

A child’s birthday party is a fun and happy occasion for them to feel truly special and enjoy some food, games and entertainment with their friends.

If you’re planning a birthday party for your child and are having trouble deciding on a theme or activity, then take a look at some of the popular children’s party ideas for 2020!

  • Superheroes

Boys and girls all love superheroes and whether it’s specific to just one hero or a general theme there is so much that can be done with this party theme. Invite guests to wear costumes but don’t insist on it or provide capes and masks on the day for the kids to wear. You could even hire a professional entertainer to dress up as a superhero and amuse the kids.

  • Escape Rooms

Escape rooms have become huge and are a fun, exciting and immersive experience that’s not just for the grown-ups! Lots of venues have rooms that cater for the younger visitors but depending on difficulty this is definitely one best suited to older children of around 8 years and above.

  • Fortnite

Fortnite still remains an extremely popular video game and kids will just love to attend this themed party. It’s up to you how you interpret it – you might take them paintballing or to a gaming centre and there are tons of fun balloons, llama piñatas, decorations and accessories available to buy that will make this a ‘floss worthy’ event.

  • Unicorns

Little girls just seem to love unicorns and the mythical creature is a popular theme. Let your imagination run wild and create games such as ‘pin the horn on the unicorn’ or maybe even hire a face painter or glitter tattooist which your child and their friends will love to show off.

  • Summer Fun

If you are fortunate enough to have a big back garden and you have a child whose birthday is in the summer then make the most of it! If they are sports mad then create a super fun sports day with egg and spoon races, hoop throwing, limbo, a 3 legged race and even a water balloon fight if you want! Or maybe they just want something simple with a BBQ and a bouncy castle in the garden? If so a colourful and vibrant Hawaiian theme will work great and you can add piñatas, colourful lanterns and plenty of decorations.

  • Movie Party

Some children don’t want a big party with dozens of people. Maybe they just want some of their best friends over to watch a film? If so, that doesn’t mean it can’t be special. Send out cinema ticket themed invitations, prepare the ‘viewing room’ on the night with colourful bean bags, cushions and blankets. Be sure to have plenty of popcorn, sweets and drinks to really make it a cinema experience.

  • Disco

Disco parties can be tailored for all ages from the very young to the ‘too cool for school’ teenagers. Hiring professional childrens entertainers Essex means that you can tailor your party to suit your needs and everything is taken care of for you. Why not add a photo booth, bubble machine, light up letters, slush machine, popcorn maker, sweet cart or even a snow machine to really make their day special!
